Prayer by Reverend Dr. Bianca Daebs, Anglican Diocese of Recife, BrazilĀ
We pray to the God of life to continue to inspire us with a Spirit of love, courage, and faith so that we may continue our mission to amplify the voices of those who suffer from human and socio-environmental rights violations caused by the catastrophic advance of religious, political, and economic fundamentalisms. May the Ecumenical and Interreligious Tapiri be the blessed seed of a new era in which we live in communion with all creation. Amen.
Hello! I am Bianca Daebs, Reverend of the Anglican Episcopal Church of Brazil and advisor to CESE (Ecumenical Coordination of Services) for ecumenism and interreligious dialogue.Ā
CESE is developing, in the north of the country (Brazil), an ecumenical and interreligious project called TAPIRI, which covers the nine states of the Legal Amazon, bringing together people from social movements, churches, indigenous spiritual communities, youth groups, social movements, and other segments to discuss how religious, political, and economic fundamentalisms affect our struggle for environmental rights.Ā
Without a doubt, our greatest challenge is to bring all these people together and show that dialogue is possible, that the issue of environmental preservation is an issue that speaks to us and to our common home, and that this is possible and desirable among us.Ā
I believe that the Anglican Communion can support this initiative in various ways: by praying for us, by helping to disseminate the content of the ecumenical and interreligious TAPIRI, and, perhaps, by sharing what we have seen and heard with what the Communion has supported in other places.Ā
I pray that the God of life will continue to give us strength, courage, and faith to challenge the unjust structures of this world. Let us continue together in struggle, prayer, love, and faith!Ā
