A call for solidarity

“We are living in very difficult times in the Amazon. The Amazon region is of fundamental importance in controlling the planet’s climate and in the availability of rainfall.

The Anglican Diocese of the Amazon is deeply committed to the defence of the rights and struggles of indigenous peoples and other traditional communities, and to ecumenical ministry in this region.

We want the support of our Anglican Family so that our voice can be heard, and we wish to count on your prayers, the dissemination of our actions and the amplification of our voices. May we go hand in hand in living out the Fifth Mark of Mission that calls us to fight to safeguard the integrity of creation and to sustain and renew life on Earth.”

The Rt Revd Marinez Bassotto, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of the Amazon
