The Anglican Church of Rwanda has launched the Green Anglicans Movement Rwanda. Children are at the heart of the initiative about tree growing and capacity building. During the launch and the days following, the Church and Rural Development Inter-diocesan Service (RDIS) carried out training amongst members of the community and primary school children on the importance of tree growing.

The children received tree seedlings afterwards to plant and care for within the school and also received some to take home to plant and care for with their families. Involving school children creates opportunities for the children and youth to explore environmental issues, engage in problem-solving and take action to improve the environment.

The launch of the Green Anglicans Rwanda took place on November 16, 2022 during the annual bishops and clergy conference presided over by Archbishop Laurent Mbanda.
